The phrase collige virgo rosas (”gather, girl, the roses”) appears at the end of the poem De rosis nascentibus. It encourages everyone to enjoy life before it’s too late.   This concept is similar to another well known latin phrase “Carpe Diem” (Remember the movie Dead Poet’s Society?).

This necklace is constructed from scratch using sterling silver wires of varying gauges and sterling silver gallery wires to house a beautiful citrine cabochon.  I’ve attempted to use a series of wire coils and sterling silver to decorate the base of the focal to generate the effect of silver vines and berries.
